- Ensure the overall design intent of the project established by the Creative Director or Project Designer is incorporated into the detailed documentation.
- Monitor the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring the design idea is consistent and properly executed.
- Manage the technical resolution and coordination for a project.
- Assist with project specifications and product research.
- Check completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracy.
- Set the overall strategy for producing the documents and identify the sheets planned for each stage of the work, including defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM).
- Manage standards.
- Communicate with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to incorporate all information into project requirements and provide support as needed.
- Ensure that construction detail documentation conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards.
- Participate in team meetings to resolve technical issues, coordinate with other disciplines, review project costs and budgets, and adhere to the schedule.
- Regularly communicate with client representatives to verify design requirements and specifications, progress reviews, and delivery of final presentation.
- Attend on-site visits, field reviews, and project meetings, and prepare and coordinate the review of contractors' schedules, submission of shop drawings, and samples.
- Supervise the preparation of technical drawings by other members of the team.
- May prepare 2D and 3D presentation and design drawings and build models for client/project team review.
- Participate in business development meetings with team leaders to target certain projects, client, or market opportunities.
- Direct the work of others and participate in project reviews.
- Incorporate integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
- Foster a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
Experience you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or interior architecture.
- Professional license required.
- Environmental accreditation .
- 15+ years of experience in interior architectural practice with management experience in all phases of projects from proposal through construction administration.
- Advanced knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and architectural building systems.
- Thorough understanding of project work plans, schedules, staffing, and budgets.
- Ability to manage multiple projects of a complex scope.
- Proficient technical expertise in MS Office, Adobe Suite, Design Smart, AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, and other design tools; some Revit experience .
- Experience in client management, project management, and negotiations.
- Ability to work in a team environment and supervise others.
- Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Dedicated management and leadership skills.
