Job Description

About the Role

As an Intellectual Property Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting industry and competition analysis, as well as policy research, in the field of European intellectual property. You will support Changan's overseas business development, particularly with regard to global patent applications, IP risk management and establish a robust IP frameworks.


Responsibilities

1. Conduct industry competition analysis and policy research on European local intellectual property. Collaborate with the technical department to sort out technical frameworks, carry out prior art searches, and develop global patent application strategies.

2. According to the patent protection strategy, collaborate with European firms that provide Intellectual Property service to carry out patent applications, including reviewing patent application documents and ensuring that core technologies are perfectly protected.

3. Conduct IP risk analysis across global markets. Collaborate with technical departments to perform claim comparisons and develop targeted avoidance strategies. Drive the implementation of these strategies.

4. Take responsibility for intellectual property negotiation and risk management in Europe.

5. Take responsibility for constructing European intellectual property capabilities and systems.


Qualifications and Skills

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Vehicle Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other automotive-aligned disciplines. Alternatively, degrees in Intellectual Property Law, Law, or related fields are suitable. Candidates with a dual background in technology and law are highly .

2. 3+ years of proven experience in intellectual property in Europe. Familiarity with the intellectual property policies and rules in Europe.

3. Based in Europe, with English as the working . European , or those with extensive long-term work experience in Europe, are .

4. Demonstrate strong cross-functional and cross-team stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align diverse business needs, communicate effectively, and deliver results efficiently. A track record of innovative thinking and analytical problem-solving is essential.

5. Exhibit strong logical thinking and organizational abilities, excel at task decomposition, analysis, and summarization, and be proficient in office software such as Excel and PowerPoint.

6. Show a proactive approach to work, with a passion for driving innovation and excellence in intellectual property management.
