Position Title: Senior Instrument & Control System Engineer
Location: Doha, Qatar
Work Schedule: Residential – 5 days/week
Contract Term: Initial 12 months (with possibility to extend)
Estimated Start Date: 01-Oct-2025 or ASAP
Job Purpose
The Senior Instrument & Control (I&C) Engineer provides technical expertise for FEED and detailed engineering of greenfield and brownfield oil & gas facilities, including offshore projects. This role supports detailed design, vendor deliverables review, and ensures compliance with industry codes, standards, and QatarEnergy/Shell DEP requirements.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering from an accredited university.

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in FEED and detailed engineering for oil & gas or similar facilities, including offshore.

At least 5 years’ experience in detailed design engineering for brownfield modifications to offshore facilities.

Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Senior Discipline Engineer.
Technical Skills & Experience

Experience with one or more of the following: DCS, PLC, RTU, SCADA, SIS, F&G, WHCP.

Strong knowledge of industry practices, engineering tools, codes, and QatarEnergy / Shell DEP standards applicable to I&C discipline.

Experience in reviewing vendor deliverables and vendor packages.

Good knowledge of working with process plant P&ID drawings.

Experience with Material Requisitions (MR), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), and Technical Queries (TQ).

Exposure to IPF Classification and SIL assessment is preferred.
Key Responsibilities

Execute detailed I&C engineering for greenfield and brownfield projects, ensuring design compliance with project specifications and standards.

Review and approve vendor deliverables, technical packages, and datasheets.

Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Process, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines.

Participate in IPF classification, SIL assessments, and risk analysis activities.

Support brownfield modifications ensuring safe integration with existing systems.

Coordinate and respond to technical queries (TQs), material requisitions (MRs), and technical bid evaluations (TBEs).
