Well established local3 NYC electrical contractor seeks experienced Electrical Estimator with infrastructure experience for their growing business.

The Senior Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical construction projects. This role requires deep knowledge of electrical systems, industry standards, and pricing strategies. The ideal candidate has experience working on complex commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects and can lead the estimating process from bid to final proposal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive electrical estimates.

  • Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for electrical systems and prepare cost breakdowns.

  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client walk-throughs to understand project scope.

  • Identify risks, constructability issues, and value engineering opportunities.

  • Obtain and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other estimators during the bidding process.

  • Lead or assist in the preparation of bid proposals and ensure all required documents are submitted on time.

  • Maintain and update estimating databases, historical cost data, and unit price libraries.

  • Mentor junior estimators and assist in training on estimating software and industry best practices.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, code requirements, and new technologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in a senior or lead role.

  • Proven experience with infrastructure projects: tunnels/bridges/civil projects

  • Strong knowledge of the Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.

  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, McCormick, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar.

  • Strong math and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Salary up to $150k+ including local 3 union benefit package-ADM division
