We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Engineer with expertise in capacity planning and multi-plant space optimization to join our team in Goodyear, AZ.
Position Overview
The Industrial Engineer will play a pivotal role in forecasting production capacity and leading plant-level space planning initiatives across GTI’s expanding manufacturing network. This role will analyze long-term production demands, design optimal facility layouts, and drive strategic infrastructure projects to support GTI’s rapid growth and new plant launches.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including operations, engineering, supply chain, and finance—to ensure GTI’s manufacturing footprint is designed to scale efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.
Key ResponsibilitiesCapacity Analysis & Forecasting

Conduct detailed studies to evaluate current manufacturing system capacity, output rates, equipment utilization, and labor efficiency.

Build and maintain capacity models and forecasting tools for production lines, assembly areas, and plant-level operations.

Analyze historical production data and future demand projections to forecast short-, mid-, and long-term capacity needs.

Identify potential constraints proactively and recommend strategies for scaling production to meet business growth.
Space Planning & Layout Design (Plant-Level)

Lead enterprise-wide space planning across multiple GTI manufacturing facilities to align capacity, workforce, and material flow with long-term growth plans.

Evaluate and design new greenfield and brownfield facilities, including conceptual layouts, infrastructure planning, and space allocation for production, warehousing, and logistics.

Create and maintain master plant layout plans, modeling space utilization and resource needs over multi-year horizons.

Oversee major site expansions, consolidations, and reconfigurations to maximize operational efficiency and minimize disruption to active production.

Coordinate with operations, safety, engineering, and finance leaders to ensure layouts meet production, safety, and ergonomic standards while supporting rapid ramp-up timelines.
Project & Capital Management

Manage large-scale capital projects tied to capacity increases, equipment installations, and facility expansions.

Develop project scope, schedule, budget, and ROI justifications for capital expenditure requests.

Coordinate cross-functional teams—including facilities, production, quality, supply chain, and logistics—to ensure timely and on-budget project execution.

Provide project status reporting and metrics to leadership.
Required Technical Skills
-
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

5+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering, with emphasis on capacity planning and facility layout optimization.

Advanced proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD ) for facility and layout design.

Familiarity with simulation modeling tools (FlexSim, ProModel, or similar) and statistical analysis software (JMP, Minitab).

Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, v-lookups, charts, and data modeling).

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite ) and manufacturing data environments.
