S&ME is looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Hydrogeologist to join our Civil team and can be based in either our Greenville-Spartanburg, Columbia, Charlotte, Greensboro or Knoxville office locations. What You'll Do:
As a Senior Hydrogeologist and technical leader, you'll guide major hydrogeologic investigations and provide expert insights across energy markets-including nuclear, waste, mining, and power . This role requires extensive experience with services such as site characterizations, hydrogeologic studies, technical, permitting, and compliance support of facilities, groundwater and surface water studies, and leachate and gas assessments.
- Project Leadership: Manage full project lifecycles, including planning, budgeting, client relations, and technical execution.
- Technical Fieldwork: Conduct complex site characterizations, groundwater/surface water studies, leachate and gas assessments, and compliance evaluations.
- Reporting & Permitting: Develop detailed environmental reports, permit applications, and technical documentation.
- Proposal Development: Lead and support proposals for complex, high-value projects.
- Team Development: Mentor junior staff and contribute to knowledge-sharing across disciplines.
- Client Engagement: Build lasting relationships with clients and represent S&ME at industry events and professional organizations.
What We're Looking For:
- A Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience in nuclear and/or waste management markets, a plus
- Professional Geologist (PG) license in North Carolina
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word, and able to learn commercial software applications
