Company Overview: W.W. Gay Mechanical Controls and Integration, a leading Building Control Systems Integration Company in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking a talented Senior HVAC Controls Engineer. Our team is growing, and we are looking for a professional with at least five years of experience in major manufacturers BMS control products. systems include Honeywell Webs, KMC Controls, Tridium Niagara AX/N4, and JCI FX. If you have the expertise to manage installations, terminations, programming, start-ups, and commissioning of DDC HVAC Building Control Systems with minimal supervision, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee field start-up activities for construction projects, including field programming, system start-up, documentation, system acceptance, client training, and warranty calls.
- System Commissioning: Under the technical managers guidance, perform software start-up and commissioning of complete control systems under operational conditions and simulated seasonal changes.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure installed programs meet the project's sequence of operations and that all controllers function correctly.
- User Interface Installation: Install, test, and field-verify a complete Graphical User Interface, providing end-user training on using web-based graphics to control the system.
- Programming Adjustments: Make necessary programming corrections to account for field conditions, maintain field reports, and update as-built documentation.
- Dynamic Testing: Conduct dynamic testing of all installed hardware and software.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure uniform and proper installation of controls per company and Electric Code standards and verify compliance with OSHA and company regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate checkout sheets and update as-built documentation for timely production of O&Ms.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with technical enhancements and new product developments through company-provided training.
- Team Supervision: Supervise project team members to ensure efficient work within the project scope.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel and work outside normal hours as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Punctual, organized, reliable, and self-motivated.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Visio, Word).
- Basic knowledge of electronic circuits and electrical systems, with the ability to understand wiring diagrams and circuits.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in temperature control systems, HVAC systems, DDC controls, HVAC electronics, running conduit, and terminating wiring.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable vehicle.
- Must pass a criminal background check and be subject to random drug screening.
- Ability to work in large-scale construction sites, understanding personal safety, and adapting to changing job locations.
