The Opportunity
An exceptional opportunity for a seasoned Senior Grains & Oilseeds Proprietary Trader to join a prominent global hedge fund. This is a pure proprietary trading role, focused on deploying capital across global grains and oilseeds markets, ideally focusing on APAC markets. The position is ideal for a fundamentally driven trader with a strategic mindset and a proven track record of profitability.
You’ll have the autonomy to develop and execute discretionary trading strategies, leveraging market inefficiencies, supply/demand dynamics, and macro-agricultural trends across global markets.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement mid-to-long-term proprietary trading strategies in grains and oilseeds (e.g., wheat, corn, soybeans, meal, oil).

Take full ownership of position management, P&L, and risk exposure across physical and derivative markets.

Perform deep fundamental analysis of global supply chains, crop cycles, trade flows, and geopolitical impacts.

Utilize quantitative and market intelligence tools to support trading decisions and identify mispricings or structural inefficiencies.

Engage with global counterparties, brokers, producers, and market participants to maintain a competitive edge.

Operate within clearly defined risk limits and internal compliance frameworks.
What We’re Looking For

Proven track record in proprietary trading across grains and oilseeds markets, with a focus on physical and/or derivatives.

Strong P&L performance and consistent delivery of risk-adjusted returns over multiple seasons/cycles.

Deep understanding of global agricultural market fundamentals, including logistics, weather impacts, and policy/regulatory developments.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to formulate and test trading hypotheses based on data and field intelligence.
