C2 Environmental, Inc. is a small, rapidly growing business based in Newport News, Virginia. We focus on environmental planning, permitting and compliance services for a variety of clients including regional utility providers, federal agencies, military installations, educational institutions, local governments, and private sector developers within the Mid-Atlantic region. We are well known for our work in the energy and infrastructure sectors where we provide a suite of services for electric transmission facilities as well as coastal and waterfront facilities. C2 Environmental is seeking a qualified individual for a Mid to Senior Level GIS Professional position to support our energy sector services.

Responsibilities
The Mid to Senior Level GIS Professional position is responsible for developing and implementing GIS workflows, protocols, and data collection and management systems in support of project needs for a variety of clients and projects, but specifically in support of routing and siting studies for utility lines and linear projects. This position is an excellent leadership opportunity offering the motivated candidate a fast-paced, challenging work environment for high-profile projects. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills as this position requires direct coordination with clients and other external entities for project communications. As a senior position within the company, the position requires oversight of staff, development and implementation of programmatic procedures, and is responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of project deliverables in accordance with company and client standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. degree in GIS, Geography or a related field
• 5-10 years experience in GIS with GIS Professional certification strongly desired
• Advanced proficiency in ESRI software, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and mobile data collection and processing applications
• Familiarity using AutoCAD or other CAD software is
• Experience publishing and maintaining web-based map services and applications
• Experience with the collection and management of large datasets including georeferencing site plans
• Demonstrated abilities in the analysis of large datasets
• Ability to train and mentor junior GIS staff on a variety of basic to intermediate data collection and mapping needs
• Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects/tasks
• Direct experience with environmental datasets, utilities, and linear projects strongly desired
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work well in diverse groups of people and without direct supervision
