Job Description

Title: Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Type: W-2 Contract (with full benefits) / Hybrid

Location: Hybrid in Long Beach, CA (On-site 3+ Days a Week in Long Beach Required)

Hourly/Contract Rate: Up to $40/hour, depending on experience.

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to support a banking technology initiative within a regulated enterprise environment. This is a hands-on individual contributor (IC) role for a senior-level engineer who thrives in structured environments and can independently own complex technical work. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in React and Node.js/Express, is comfortable working within enterprise security and compliance frameworks, and can navigate dependency approvals and governance processes with minimal guidance. This role requires onsite presence in Long Beach at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and enhance front-end functionality using React, including work with specific version constraints common in enterprise environments.
• Build and maintain backend middleware and APIs using Node.js and Express.
• Lead detailed analysis and documentation of third-party libraries and versions to support security, risk, and compliance approvals.
• Contribute to SAML-based authentication integrations.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Improve, stabilize, and document the local development environment to support team productivity.
• Collaborate closely with security, architecture, and data teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, performance, reliability, and security.
• Take ownership of technical problem-solving with minimal oversight.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 7+ years of professional experience as a Full-Stack Engineer, and 4+ years of experience as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer.
• Strong expertise in React, including experience working with specific or locked versions.
• Solid backend development experience with Node.js and Express.
• Experience working in regulated or security-conscious environments (banking or financial services strongly ).
• Familiarity with SAML authentication and integrations.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and structured CI/CD workflows.
• Strong understanding of dependency management, security reviews, and secure development practices.
• SQL experience is a plus but not required (dedicated data team support available).
• Must be a Senior Full-Stack Engineer who is comfortable operating independently.
• Must (currently) live in Long Beach, CA, and be willing to work on-site 3+ days a week.
• Must be a strong communicator who can work effectively across engineering, security, and architecture teams.
• Must be detail-oriented and patient when working through enterprise governance and approval processes.
• Must be pragmatic, delivery-focused, and able to balance speed with compliance.
