Job Title:  Senior Field Service Engineer.  (10+ years experience)

2.  Job Summary/Overview

Purpose of the Role: 

A Senior Field Service Engineer is a technical professional who provides on-site support and maintenance for histology equipment and systems, often working directly with customers. They troubleshoot problems, perform repairs, and may also be involved in installations and commissioning of new equipment. Senior Field Service Engineers may be expected to lead teams or manage complex projects.

3.  Responsibilities:

Troubleshooting and Repair:

Diagnosing and resolving technical issues with histology equipment or systems, often requiring a deep understanding of the equipment's operation. 

Installation and Commissioning:

Setting up and testing new equipment or systems, ensuring they function correctly. 

Maintenance:

Performing regular maintenance and preventative measures on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. 

 

 

Client Interaction:

Communicating with customers to understand their needs, provide technical advice, and address any concerns. 

Documentation:

Keeping detailed records of all site activities, including repairs, maintenance, and installations. 

Training:

Providing training to other technicians or end-users on the proper use and maintenance of equipment. 

Team Leadership:

Supervising and mentoring junior field service engineers in some cases. 

 

4.  Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Proficiency:

A strong understanding of the histology equipment or systems, including mechanical, electrical, and/or software aspects. 

Problem-Solving:

The ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions. 

Communication Skills:

The ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

Customer Service Skills:

The ability to interact professionally with customers, address their concerns, and build relationships. 

Teamwork:

The ability to work effectively with other members of the team, including engineers, technicians, and managers. 

Physical Stamina:

The ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and carrying equipment or working in various environments. 

Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree in an engineering field is required, with practical experience in field service of histology equipment is required. Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering  or Military equivalent.

 

 

5.  Certifications Required in any of the following:

Sakura, Leica or Thermo histology equipment.
