Our client, a leading firm in the water sector, is currently seeking a Senior Estimator to join their team in Sheffield on a permanent basis.\n\nJob Purpose:\n\nThe Senior Estimator will be responsible for the preparation and submission of tenders under various procurement forms. Working as part of a team, this role is crucial to securing profitable future workloads. Utilise your construction knowledge and commercial experience in conjunction with the bid team to ensure competitive bids, manage risks, and prepare budgets and cost plans.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nAppraise tender documents\nPrepare material and sub-contract enquiries, selecting prospective subcontractors\nAttend strategy and opportunity meetings with the project team\nConduct site visits to identify site-specific risks\nContribute to design development and attend design team meetings\nPrepare tender Bills of Quantities\nPrepare analytical cost estimates including preliminaries\nAdjudicate and compare sub-contractor quotations\nInitiate technical queries and ensure design is sufficiently developed for accurate costing\nManage risks throughout the tender period and prepare the tender Risk Register\nCarry out value engineering throughout the design phase of design and build projects\nPresent the tender to senior management at settlement meetings\nComplete tender documentation and submit the tender\nEnsure a smooth handover of the project to the site team \n\nJob Requirements:\n\nProven Estimating experience\nAppropriate construction-related HND/Degree or similar\nFamiliarity with all forms of contract\nExperience using Conquest estimating software\nStrong technical construction knowledge\nKnowledge of Building Regulations and other industry standards\nAwareness of BIM and cost planning\nExperience in viewing and interrogating 3D design models (desirable) \n\nBenefits:\n\nCompetitive salary\nCar allowance\n26 days of annual leave (option to buy or sell up to 3 days)\nPrivate medical insurance\nLife assurance\nDefined contribution pension scheme matched up to 8%\nEnhanced maternity, paternity, and parental leave\nVolunteering opportunities\nFlexible and agile working\nEmployee Assistance Programme and discount schemes\nProfessional membership fees \n\nIf you have the experience and skills required for this Senior Estimator role and are looking for a new opportunity within a dynamic team, we would love to hear from you
