About the Role
As our Senior Electrical Estimator, you will take ownership of the full estimating cycle from bid strategy and quantity takeoffs to vendor negotiations and proposal delivery. You'll collaborate directly with executives, PMs, engineers, and field teams to ensure estimates are thorough, competitive, and aligned with our goals.
You'll work on meaningful infrastructure schools, libraries, civic buildings, and transit while helping improve internal systems and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of detailed, competitive estimates for electrical scopes in commercial and public works construction
- Analyze bid documents, drawings, specs, and RFPs to develop accurate cost breakdowns
- Manage estimating software (Accubid, Bluebeam), refine workflows, and track project data
- Engage with subcontractors and vendors to build and maintain cost-effective relationships
- Participate in bid reviews, strategy sessions, and proposal presentations
- Train and support junior estimators; help standardize estimating practices
- Monitor industry trends, local code updates, and market pricing fluctuations
- Coordinate bid submissions, bonding requirements, and qualification packages
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of electrical estimating experience in construction, with demonstrated success on public sector or commercial projects
- Advanced proficiency in Accubid or comparable software
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction practices, and NEC/local codes
- Experience estimating Prevailing Wage and government-funded projects
- High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite; Procore is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent trade experience
- Field background (e.g. licensed electrician) but not required
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time senior-level role
- Competitive salary: $110,000 to $145,000 depending on experience
