Senior Environmental Project Manager

As a Senior Environmental Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in building and shaping the environmental services department from the ground up. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of environmental service offerings, establish operational standards, and drive strategic growth. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality environmental consulting and project management services while cultivating new business opportunities and expanding our client base. In addition, you will oversee and mentor environmental professionals, ensuring successful execution of projects and alignment with UES’s goals.

Responsibilities

Travel to various job sites in a company provided vehicle

Mentor and grow Environmental team members’ environmental testing and knowledge base

Develop and manage projects with existing and new clients

Daily management of all phases of ongoing environmental projects

Provide on-site project management to complete field testing

Environmental business development, networking and marketing

Create, prepare and update project proposals and technical reports

Schedule project testing and other necessary field work

Perform tests, sampling of environmental materials, and author reports including, but not limited to Wetlands Delineation, Phase I and Phase II site assessments, Brownfields and Voluntary Cleanup Contract (VCC) assessments, Threatened and Endangered Species Surveys, underground storage tank (UST) location and removal, soil and groundwater testing, erosion and sediment control inspection, lead, radon, asbestos, and mold, spill prevention control and countermeasure plans (SPCC), Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), remedial system design and monitoring.

Complete accurate and detailed field-testing reports and/or diagrams

Maintain daily communication and provide supervision to technicians, contractors and other project managers

Review, update and approve invoices weekly for on-going projects

Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects

Maintain quality standards on all projects

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

5 years of experience in geology, environmental engineering and/or related experience

Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and programs

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to use technology/computer

Ability to accurately complete field-testing paperwork and detailed figures

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, detailed reports, short correspondence and memos

Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Strong leadership skills and an eye for detail

Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and integrity

Brownfields and VCC assessments

Knowledge in: OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, Asbestos, Lead Paint, Phase I/II ESA

Local working with strong client relationships

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions such as wet and/or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments

Field work on outside construction sites involving long-term standing and potentially repetitive motions

This role is combined with 50% field work, 40% office work and 10% travel

Ability to use your senses to see (including close, distant and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus), smell, hear and touch (use your hands to reach, climb or balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit)

Use of respirator and/or other PPE

Ability to climb a ladder higher than 10 feet as needed

Ability to access and work in crawlspaces and attics as needed

Travel is expected, including potential overnights. Some weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.

May be required to drive hundreds of miles per day

Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs.
