My client is a global, multi-disciplinary consultancy delivering innovative engineering, environmental and design solutions for major energy and infrastructure projects worldwide. With over 10,000 professionals across 200+ offices, they help communities transition towards a sustainable, secure and reliable energy future.
They are now looking for a Senior Electrical Consulting Engineer to join their growing UK Power team and play a key role in delivering technically challenging projects across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Australia.
This role is ideal for an experienced electrical engineer ready to step up, combining technical depth with exposure to consulting, client engagement and project leadership.
The Role
As Senior Engineer, you will support the delivery of complex power sector projects and contribute to technical problem-solving, design development and client advisory services. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and supporting electrical engineering projects across transmission and distribution networks
Producing and reviewing FEED studies, concept designs and technical specifications
Acting as Owner's Engineer, delivering technical advisory and due-diligence services
Designing cable systems, substations (grid and distribution) and specifying key electrical equipment
Supporting tendering, bids and proposals with technical input
Assisting with FAT, SAT and commissioning activities
Mentoring and supporting junior engineers as the team continues to grow
About You
You'll be a technically strong engineer with a drive to develop your consulting capabilities. You will bring:
A degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng/BSc minimum; MEng/MSc desirable)
Strong understanding of the UK electricity system and its regulatory environment
Experience in the design, operation, construction or maintenance of transmission and distribution networks
Knowledge of key equipment including GIS/AIS switchgear, transformers, reactive compensation, harmonic filters and power cables
Experience with protection & control (desirable)
Project delivery experience, either leading or coordinating tasks
Site experience (FAT/SAT/commissioning) - advantageous
Working towards, or already holding, Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
