USMAT, Inc. develops innovative sensing technologies and advanced electronic systems for industrial, scientific, and defense-related applications. We are seeking an exceptional hands-on engineer to help design and build next- sensing platforms, modular electronics architectures, embedded systems, and industrial control electronics.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving difficult technical problems, building real hardware, and taking ownership from concept through deployment. You will work across analog front ends, embedded electronics, firmware, sensing systems, power electronics, and system integration while collaborating closely with a small, highly technical team.

What You’ll Work On
• Design analog front-end electronics for novel sensing systems
• Develop embedded electronics and firmware for sensing and control applications
• Design modular and reconfigurable electronics architectures
• Develop power electronics and industrial control systems
• Prototype, test, troubleshoot, and iterate hardware systems
• Participate in full product development cycles from concept to deployment
• Contribute to new technology concepts, patents, and R&D initiatives

Requirements
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to independently execute complex technical work with high-quality results
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications
• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field
• 5+ years of relevant industry or advanced research experience
• Strong background in several of the following:
- Analog electronics
- Embedded systems
- Firmware development
- Sensor systems
- Power electronics
- Control systems
- PCB design and system integration
• Demonstrated ability to solve challenging technical problems effectively and efficiently
• Self-driven, proactive, detail-oriented, and highly accountable
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced and dynamic R&D environment
Bonus Experience
• Embedded C/C++ development
• STM32 or other ARM microcontrollers
• Altium Designer or equivalent PCB tools
• Industrial communication protocols
• FPGA or high-speed electronics experience
• Scientific instrumentation or sensor development
• Product prototyping and testing
