Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Our client, a leading consultancy in the water sector, is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic and growing team operating across the UK.



Key Responsibilities:



Develop project plans by liaising with clients and interpreting their data and requirements

Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met

Produce technical outputs including specifications, schedules, and reports

Design and size pumping and aeration systems

Generate engineering inputs and design outputs such as general arrangement drawings, 3D models, 2D plans, and P&IDs

Conduct technical presentations to clients and peers, and participate in collaborative design discussions

Assess existing site infrastructure and develop mechanical designs for the water and wastewater treatment industry

Prepare design risk assessments and ensure compliance with the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations



Job Requirements:



Good understanding of electrical design principles and significant experience in the water industry

Proficient in pump selection, design of pumping systems, and the use of P&IDs

Experience in producing specifications, reports, and technical documentation

Knowledge of contract procurement and engagement methods, ideally including NEC forms of contract

Ability to manage work to time, cost, and quality criteria

Comfortable supporting junior staff in their technical and personal development

Willingness to travel to operational and construction sites, act safely, and conduct surveys, inspections, and testing

Knowledge of design tools and software such as AutoCAD is advantageous



Qualifications:



Degree in electrical engineering or a closely allied subject, ideally IET-accredited. Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous

Chartered engineer status or working towards and nearing chartership
