Senior EICA Engineer in Manchester

A leading engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior EICA Engineer to support a growing portfolio of water sector projects across the UK. This role offers flexible hybrid working, with the expectation of attending a Manchester office and project sites as required.\n\nThis is a long term contract position, and can be outside ir35. \n\nThe Role\n\nReporting to the Project Lead Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality Electrical, Control, Instrumentation & Automation (EICA) design solutions across major water frameworks.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDeliver cost-effective design documentation aligned with client specifications and project requirements\nProduce outline and detailed EICA designs for water sector projects\nConduct site surveys and provide technical input during project lifecycle\nAttend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and produce detailed reports\nReview and ensure compliance of subcontractor designs\nPrepare, check, and approve engineering documentation\nEnsure compliance with UK and international standards, legislation, and client procedures\nDevelop equipment and material requisitions for EICA systems\nPrepare installation scopes of work\nReview supplier quotations and complete technical bid assessments\nProvide support during site construction and commissioning phases\n\nRequirements\n\nSignificant experience delivering UK water sector projects (essential)\nDegree in Electrical, Electronic, Control Engineering, or similar (apprenticeship routes also considered)\n10+ years’ experience in a relevant engineering discipline\nStrong knowledge of design practices and installation requirements within the water sector\nSolid understanding of UK legislation and standards (including WIMES)\nExperience working in hazardous areas (e.g. ATEX environments)\nKnowledge of CE marking requirements (ATEX, PED, Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Directive, EMC)\nAwareness of risk management and HSE requirements\n\nPersonal Attributes\n\nHighly motivated and proactive\nStrong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders\nExperience delegating and coordinating work\nSafety and risk-conscious mindset\nCustomer-focused approach\nOnly those with proof of right to work in the UK should apply for this role.\n\nApply now or reach out to  for more information
