Senior Digital Solutions Developer

We are looking for a Senior Digital Solutions Developer for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Doha Onshore

Start Date: 01/03/2027

End Date: 31/12/2027

Work Status: Single

Qualification and Experience Required:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Postgraduate qualification (Master's or equivalent) in Computer Science or Software Engineering is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as: Microsoft Certified Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate, Microsoft Certified Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate, and Kubernetes certification.
• Agile/Scrum certifications: Certified Scrum Developer, Professional Scrum Developer

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with at least 4 years in a senior or software lead capacity.
• Proven track record of delivering production-grade software in an agile environment.
• Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Experience in building applications leveraging artificial intelligence capabilities.
• Experience in industrial sectors, preferably within Oil & Gas, or Process Industries.

Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical):

• Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or Node.js.
• Strong experience with RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js) and experience building responsive web applications.
• Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), software design patterns, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of data engineering concepts, ETL pipelines, and integration with data platforms is a plus.
• Strong understanding of application security principles (OWASP Top 10, secure coding standards).

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy scalable, reliable, and secure software applications and services.
• Produce clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following established coding standards and best practices.
• Lead technical design sessions and produce software architecture artefacts for new features and system integrations.
• Conduct thorough peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve quality and share knowledge across the team.
• Define and enforce unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies to ensure software reliability and reduce defect leakage.
• Drive continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices, including pipeline configuration and automated quality gates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents in a timely manner.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and libraries to improve engineering productivity and product quality.
• Contribute to API design, microservices architecture, and cloud-native deployment patterns on Microsoft Azure.
• Ensure security, compliance, and data governance requirements are embedded into the software development lifecycle.
• Manage technical debt through refactoring initiatives and proactive engineering hygiene practices.

Technical Leadership

• Act as a technical point of contact for the squad, helping the team resolve engineering blockers and make sound architectural decisions.
• Support the onboarding of new engineers and technology partners, ensuring rapid ramp-up and alignment with team standards.

Agile Delivery Collaboration

• Actively participate in agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to translate user stories and acceptance criteria into detailed technical tasks and effort estimates.
• Provide technical input to support risk identification, dependency management, and planning.
• Coordinate with DevOps engineers, data engineers, infrastructure teams, Infosec, and external technology partners to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery.
• Communicate technical progress, risks, and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
