PURPOSE
The Senior Desktop Engineer role will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of SMC's physical
endpoints. This role will involve working with other IT teams to efficiently manage the full range of physical computers
& mobile devices at SMC. The senior desktop engineer uses a collection of management tools to ensure these
computers are fully updated and patched. The Senior Desktop Engineer ensures SMC's computers is running and
available, delivering a reliable and effective end-user experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
❑ Provides support for current and future desktops, laptops and mobile devices
❑ Serve as a point of escalation for end point compute environment (physical computers and mobile devices)
❑ Lead regular patching and upgrading SMC’s computers and mobile devices using device management tools to
deliver packaging software packages & updates
❑ Follow SMC IT security policies, procedures and, established standards
❑ Adhere to SMC’s IT change control (enablement) process
❑ Lead continuous improvement efforts around the end point management and support processes
❑ Lead the discovery of metrics to report on end point compute environment performance and effectiveness
❑ Work with the Infrastructure and Operations teams supporting initiatives to automate processes
❑ All other duties as assigned
