Freelance Design Manager – 3-Year University Project\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our project team on a 3-year freelance contract for an exciting university development. You will lead and coordinate the design process from concept to completion, ensuring all drawings, specifications, and design solutions meet the project brief, budget, and programme.\n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\nManaging the design process across all project stages\n\nCoordinating architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless delivery\n\nReviewing and approving design documents to meet technical and regulatory standards\n\nOverseeing compliance with planning, building regulations, and sustainability targets\n\nActing as the key liaison between the client, design team, and project management\n\nEnsuring design risks are identified and managed effectively\n\nWhat we’re looking for:\n\nProven experience as a Design Manager in construction (education sector experience )\n\nStrong knowledge of design standards, regulations, and quality requirements\n\nExcellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills\n\nAbility to manage deadlines and work independently in a freelance capacity\n\nContract: 3 years, freelance\n\nLocation: University project site (with potential hybrid working)\n\nPlease note this is PAYE contract role
