Senior Data Engineer (m/w/d)

Summary


We are looking for an experienced data engineer to help us build out our data infrastructure at TEVEO. As a core member in a small team, you will build and own different parts of the platform. The ideal candidate is a self-driven pragmatist who feels comfortable making decisions in a fast moving environment and who enjoys having direct impact on the company's success.


Key Responsibilites:


  • Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines to get data from various systems into our data warehouse
  • Own data related task orchestrations in different systems (Workato, Snowflake, dbt Cloud)
  • Own the data pipelines "end-to-end": validate data quality issues in source systems, ensure transformation errors do not reach data consumers and establish governance best-practices across the platform
  • Communicate with other teams and business stakeholders to bridge the up- and downstream dependencies of the data pipelines
  • Build and maintain generalized data models with dbt as the foundation for data analysis for the whole organization



Qualifications


  • Experience in integrating different data sources and knowledge of common patterns and pitfalls
  • Experience in building data warehouses and the common technologies and patterns involved in that (Snowflake would be a plus)
  • Experience in implementing data governance techniques e.g. PII, cataloging, access management, etc
  • Experience with dbt and an understanding of it's advantages, weak points and best- practices
  • Expertise in writing maintainable and performant SQL queries
  • Experience working with a cloud provider (AWS would be a plus)
  • Strong communication skills in English, both in speech and in writing
  • Solid background in software development that allows to make tradeoffs between speed, cost and resource usage, based on informed arguments
  • Bonus: experience in e-commerce
