Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and build of our new enterprise data platform using Microsoft Fabric. This is a hands-on role focused on creating a scalable, secure and future-ready data warehouse to enable robust analytics, self-service reporting and data-driven decision making across the organisation.\n\nClient Details\n\nFounded in 2015, we are a UK-based, technology-driven provider of end-to-end accident management services, focusing on swift, high-quality vehicle repairs and claims management for fleets and insurers.\n\nOur mission is to get drivers and policyholders back on the road quickly and safely after an incident, supporting them through every step of the claims and repair journey, while controlling costs and repair quality.\n\nTogether, our group businesses form a fully-connected, data-driven claims & repair ecosystem, delivering everything from incident reporting, to engineering, vehicle repair, parts supply, connected technologies, and specialist claims management.\n\nDescription\n\nThe Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:\n\nLead the design, architecture and build of a new enterprise data warehouse on Microsoft Fabric.\nDevelop robust data pipelines, orchestration processes and monitoring frameworks using Fabric components (Data Factory, Data Engineering, Lakehouse).\nCreate scalable and high-quality data models to support analytics, Power BI reporting and self-service data consumption.\nEstablish and enforce data governance, documentation and best practices across the data ecosystem.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.\nProvide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to junior team members where required. \n\nProfile\n\nThe successful Senior Data Engineer will be able to demonstrate:\n\nSkills as a Senior Data Engineer, BI/Data Warehouse Engineer, or similar.\nStrong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and related services.\nEnd-to-end DWH development knowledge, from ingestion to modelling and consumption.\nStrong background in data modelling, including star schema, dimensional modelling and semantic modelling.\nAbility to orchestrate, monitoring and optimise data pipelines.\nProficiency in SQL and strong understanding of database principles.\nAbility to design scalable data architectures aligned to business needs.Desirable:\n\nPreviously worked with Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, or equivalent cloud platforms.\nKnowledge of data governance and security frameworks.\nExposure to DevOps/DataOps practices (e.g., CI/CD, environments, testing).\nPreviously building and supporting self-serve analytics programmes.
