Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Controls Systems Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a technically proficient, self-motivated team player who thrives in an environment focused on new R&D initiatives and continuous improvement of existing products. Join our innovative team and help us design, build, and refine the technology that supports critical operations around the world.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define technical requirements and documentation
  • Lead cross-functional teams of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers
  • Collaborate with programmers to debug or author control system software
  • Create technical reports to document design analysis and test requirements
  • Develop operation manuals and customer-facing documents
  • Generate schematics, drawings, and other design assets
  • Lead or assist in the development of test fixtures and production processes
  • Conduct systems-level design reviews with engineering teams and clients
  • Maintain design configuration control for assigned projects/products

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong electrical aptitude, critical thinking, and common sense
  • Ability to conceptualize, design, and troubleshoot analog and digital circuits
  • Ability to program and configure software-controlled devices
    • Programming in C, C++, or similar is required
    • Embedded controller experience is a plus
  • BS in Engineering required; MS in a technical field is a plus
    • Equivalent technical experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years experience in an R&D or product development environment
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering
  • Strong organizational and task management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Skills (Pluses):

  • Experience with:
    • Circuit board layout
    • 3D CAD systems (e.g., SolidWorks)
    • ERP / MRP systems
    • Manufacturing environments
  • Ability to grow into a project management role
  • Background in aviation and/or automation
  • Willingness to travel 1–3 times per year for system debug or training
