Summary
We have a Senior Controls Engineer position available in Albuquerque, NM. This role provides leadership in delivering automation systems for a variety of industries. The position requires technical proficiency with PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA platforms and includes customer interaction, team leadership, system design, programming, and commissioning of control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and commissioning of industrial automation systems, including PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA solutions
  • Develop control system architecture, component selection, schematic diagrams, and system documentation
  • Program controllers using Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, and other
  • Develop process visualization (HMI/SCADA), databases, and historical data reporting systems
  • Design, detail, and implement fiber, wired, and wireless industrial networks using protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus
  • Provide technical leadership on standards for graphics, alarming, and scale-up
  • Lead and mentor lower-level engineers and technicians; act as technical lead or Project Manager on smaller projects
  • Troubleshoot field devices, equipment, and automation systems
  • Participate in project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and ensuring project profitability

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Control, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 10+ years of Controls Engineer experience
  • Proficiency with PLC hardware/software platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and Modicon
  • Proficiency with HMI/SCADA platforms such as ICONICS Genesis64, Wonderware ArchestrA System Platform, GE CIMPLICITY, GE iFIX, Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk View, Schneider, and Siemens
  • Knowledge of DCS platforms such as Emerson DeltaV is a plus
  • Experience with industrial networks, fiber/wired/wireless systems, and industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus)
  • Programming skills in Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, VBA, .NET, and SQL
  • Experience with Power BI, Grafana, and API integration
  • Experience designing electrical schematics, power distribution (480VAC), and control panels with NEC compliance
  • Field device/equipment troubleshooting and job estimating experience
  • Must be local to Albuquerque, NM or have established ties to the area

Nice to Have

  • AutoCAD experience
  • Experience with large industrial networks connecting control system components and instrumentation

  • Work Model: Primarily onsite with leadership responsibilities and travel as required
