Senior Controls Engineer

Greater Chicagoland Area – Onsite
Full-Time | Direct Hire

We’re looking for a Senior Controls Engineer who’s ready to take the lead on exciting, high-impact automation projects working from concept through commissioning.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and develop advanced PLC/SCADA control systems
• Lead projects from start to finish: concept, development, testing, deployment, and commissioning
• Program Rockwell Automation and other major PLC platforms (GE, Siemens, Modicon, etc.)
• Configure SCADA/HMI systems (iFix, Wonderware, RSView, PanelView Plus)
• Set up process historian databases and control networks (Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet)
• Provide onsite startup support, troubleshooting, and client training
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with GMP and validation requirements
• Travel to client sites as needed (10–25%)

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in automation and process control
• Strong background in Rockwell Automation: ControlLogix, RSBatch, RSView, PanelView, etc.
• Familiarity with S88 Batch standards and implementation
• Experience with biotech/pharma environments and validation/GMP practices (highly )
• Electrical design package development experience is a plus
• BS in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or related)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Valid driver’s license required
