Job Title: Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer\n\nLocation: Coventry – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role\n\nSalary: 45,000+ depending on experience \n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\nDevelop a functional design for the Vehicle Control solution for SSNA\n\nWork with a complex relationship of stakeholders to provide oversight in the delivery of the vehicle control solution, and the supporting vehicle control strategy\n\nWork with the engineering manager in the delivery of the vehicle control system, reporting suitable progress through agile toolsets\n\nDeliver the response to the engineering delivery plan, ensuring that the plan is delivered to schedule\n\nWork with the Engineering Delivery Team with varying levels of SQEP to develop technical solutions, developing the team members and nurturing their development\n\nEngage with legacy stakeholders in the development of a technical solution from a known baseline design\n\nYour skills and experiences:\n\nEssential\n\nExperience in developing a C&I design for a large scale C&I system ensuring it meets a wide range of requirements, such as functional, defence standards, industrial standards, etc.\n\nExperience with managing non-functional requirements (i.e. EMC, shock, etc.) meeting industrial compliance\n\nExperience of authoring and/or reviewing design documents, such as I/O schedules, functional design specification, functional chronicle, interface control document, etc.\n\nDegree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/ Maths/ Science)\n\nDesirable\n\nUnderstanding of control system architecture and communication protocols (i.e. RS-485, PROFIBUS)\n\nHistory in IEC 61508 – Functional Safety (or similar) and production of supporting evidence to substantiate safety claims\n\nExperience with Manoeuvring Systems from various industries\n\nBenefits: \n\nYou’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
