Senior Construction Manager\n\nLocation: Central South London (Site Based)\n\nWe’re working with a well‑established UK specialist contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead the delivery of complex construction projects within a fast‑paced, high‑standards environment.\n\nThis is a hands‑on senior site leadership role, ideal for someone who takes real ownership of site operations, drives safety and quality, and enjoys developing high‑performing teams on challenging projects.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Senior Construction Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team, providing strong leadership across supervisors and trade teams.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring inspections are completed and actions closed out promptly\nChampion and embed a strong safety culture through inductions, toolbox talks and site briefings\nCoordinate trade teams to deliver high‑quality work to programme, resolving site issues as they arise\nCarry out regular inspections of works, plant, equipment and materials to maintain safety and compliance\nManage site deliveries, on‑hire and off‑hire of plant and equipment, supporting efficient material usage\nEnsure supervisors maintain accurate site records, allocation sheets and reporting documentation\nProvide technical input into the construction programme and contribute practical solutions to challenges\nKeep Project Managers informed on progress, workforce capability and quality\nMaintain a tidy, well‑organised site with appropriate welfare facilities\nLead, coach and develop supervisors and operational teams, including performance management and workforce planning\nSupport commercial awareness on site, contributing to weekly and monthly cost management processes\n\nAbout You\n\nProven experience operating as a Senior Construction Manager or Construction Manager on complex construction projects\nStrong background in site leadership, coordination of multiple trades and programme delivery\nNVQ Level 5 or 6 (or equivalent), with SMSTS and relevant site safety qualifications\nStrong understanding of health & safety legislation, safe systems of work and construction best practice\nConfident communicator with the ability to motivate teams and challenge unsafe or non‑compliant behaviour\nOrganised, proactive and commercially aware\nCalm, collaborative leadership style with a focus on quality and continuous improvement\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\nOpportunity to lead technically challenging, high‑profile projects\nLong‑term work pipeline and stability\nCompetitive salary and package\nStrong support from a well‑established senior project teamIf you’re a Senior Construction Manager based in or commuting into Central South London, and you’re looking for a role with responsibility, challenge and progression, we’d be keen to discuss it confidentially.\n\nINDP
