As our organisation continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to play a key role in our compliance function and support our MLRO/CCO in ensuring the business meets its regulatory obligations.
Role Overview
The Senior Compliance Manager will be a key member of our compliance team, taking ownership of day-to-day compliance oversight and helping to shape the future of our compliance programme. This role will grow into a Board-facing Head of Compliance position, reporting directly to the CCO/COO.
You will be responsible for performing detailed risk assessments, implementing monitoring frameworks, and ensuring effective management of country risk, PEP, and sanctions exposure. This role requires a highly capable communicator who can engage with senior stakeholders and handle sensitive internal matters with discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead risk assessments for client onboarding across high-risk sectors
- Conduct periodic reviews of existing client relationships
- Develop and maintain compliance monitoring programmes (structures, channels, controls)
- Oversee country risk management processes and escalate emerging risks
- Manage and enhance PEP and sanctions screening frameworks
- Provide guidance on regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external advisers (e.g. regulatory consultants, auditors)
- Prepare reports and updates for senior management and the Board
Desired Profile
Experience
- Strong background in the payments industry (e-money, PSPs, fintechs)
- Exposure to high-risk sectors (gaming, CFDs, high-value cross-border payments)
- Familiarity with international compliance requirements and complex organisational structures
- Experience using compliance platforms such as WebShield, Global Data, and Vixio
Key Skills
- Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement and presentation skills
- Ability to handle sensitive internal optics with professionalism and discretion
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, regulated environment
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and educate colleagues at all levels
