Salary: $75,000-95,000 depending on experience, knowledge, and qualificationsJob Summary:Independent Agency is looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager with a strong construction background to join their team. This position will be responsible for a large book of business consisting primarily of construction or construction related accounts. This individual plays a leadership role in maintaining the relationship between the service team, clients, and the insurance carriers. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating annual marketing efforts and carrier negotiations;
- Providing detailed cost and coverage analyses;
- Answering client policy and coverage questions;
- Consulting with clients on mid-term policy changes;
- Providing monthly reporting of client values to carriers;
- Coordinating and conducting claim review meetings for selected accounts;
- Visiting client sites to identify potential exposures and needs;
- Review loss analysis and complete risk management analysis
- Work with producers to complete action steps necessary to close renewals including gathering and researching risk management/insurance and renewal data for marketing.
- S/he secures the renewal of existing business with assigned accounts and oversees activities related quality of service provided to clients.
- The position involves working with multiple producers in the Agency.
Required Competencies:
- P&C License required
- CRIS designation desired but not mandatory
- Extensive knowledge of insurance coverage products, especially those purchased by contractor related exposure accounts including Builders Risk, OCP, Railroad Protective, Environmental and Professional Liability, Worker’s Compensation and General Liability.
- Extensive knowledge of Contractual Risk Transfer upstream and downstream including training of staff, spec/bid reviews, contract requirements
- Excellent knowledge of and effective negotiation skills with insurance carriers, brokers, wholesalers and alternative risk markets
- Excellent understanding of construction terms, means and ways, practices and finances
- Working knowledge of captives such as OCIP’s, CCIP’s, and CIP’s
- Good knowledge of Labor Law especially on how it affects contractors
- Ability to provide first class service to assigned accounts including certificate issuance, returning phone calls and education of client staff with respect to insurance in general
- Ability to communicate verbally and in written form with clients, insurance company personnel and other vendor and third parties
- Knowledge of claims including participation in claim reviews
- Risk Management background is desired
