Job Description
Senior Civil Engineer \n Manchester\n £40,000 – £55,000 \n\n A growing infrastructure team in Manchester is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer or Senior Engineer to help deliver major residential-led development projects. This is an opportunity to join a specialist team working on large-scale schemes ranging from 50 units to several thousand homes.\n\n You’ll take a hands-on role in designing infrastructure, planning and detailed design stage, with real ownership and progression available.\n\n What you’ll be doing:\n\n • Leading or supporting the design of residential infrastructure projects\n • Developing drainage strategies, level plans and earthworks appraisals\n • Producing Flood Risk Assessments, Utilities Statements and technical notes\n • Working on S104 / S38 / S278 submissions and technical approvals\n • Preparing and coordinating planning-stage documents\n • Guiding junior engineers, checking work and ensuring project quality\n • Liaising with clients, design teams and local authorities\n • Managing elements of projects (Senior role: full project management + proposals + BD)\n\n What we’re looking for:\n\n • Several years’ post-graduate UK consultancy experience\n • Strong background in pre-planning and planning-stage infrastructure design\n • Proficiency with MicroDrainage & AutoCAD (Civils 3D beneficial)\n • Good technical understanding + strong communication skills\n • Someone driven who wants to develop themselves and support team growth\n\n What’s on offer:\n\n • £40,000 – £55,000 DOE\n • Clear scope for progression into a senior or leadership role\n • Supportive team culture with regular CPD and development\n • Flexible working (2-3 days in office per week)\n • Strong project pipeline with major developers\n\n If you’re a civil engineer wanting bigger projects, more responsibility and a supportive team environment, this is a standout opportunity
