We are looking for an AutoCAD drafter. Here are a few of the skills necessary and tasks involved.
Reports To: Team Leader
Purpose: Responsible for operating AutoCAD to prepare fabrication drawings for construction and manufacturing purposes. Also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as assigned by his or her supervisor.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Produce shop drawings from architectural plans, client-supplied blueprints and/or field dimensions.
· Follow project schedules and meet project due dates.
· Work closely with salesmen, project coordinators, and contractors to ensure AutoCAD drawings are accurate and design is precise.
· Explain drawings to construction teams, contractors and clients for a clear representation of work to be completed
· Ensure that all projects are undertaken on time, within budget, and to the best quality and craftsmanship possible.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually with minimal oversight.
· Follow all company rules and policies
· Provide a high level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
Essential Qualifications
· Proficient in AutoCAD; 3D Modeling in CAD is beneficial, but not required.
· Cad Certification or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or minimum three years related experience and/or training in construction or production; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Experience in SketchUp is beneficial but not required.
- Experience in ornamental iron and structural steel is beneficial, but not required.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Be skilled in Conflict Management, Decision-Making, and People Management.
- Must have Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills
- Must be able to Prioritize and Delegate as necessary
- Must be Dependable
- Must have the ability to tolerate stresses of ever-changing schedules and demands of clients and sales staff.
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting or standing for long periods
· See well (naturally or with correction)
· Eye-hand coordination
Environment: AutoCAD drafters work in an office environment. Some meetings will take place on job sites where you will be walking on rough terrain in construction areas.
