Senior Building Automation Systems Technician – Austin, TX

Location: Austin, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Local Travel Only

About the Role

We’re seeking a Senior Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician — the kind of tech who can take a controls project from install to commissioning without missing a step. You’ll be working on high-end commercial HVAC systems with advanced automation and integration across multiple platforms.

If you live for clean control logic, tight loops, and systems that trend beautifully — this is your kind of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission, calibrate, and troubleshoot DDC controls for AHUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, and VFDs.
• Perform point-to-point checkout, I/O verification, and sequence validation.
• Program, edit, and tune PID loops for stable temperature and pressure control.
• Configure and optimize BACnet/IP, MSTP, and Modbus networks.
• Build and maintain front-end graphics, alarms, and schedules in Tridium Niagara, Metasys, or Siemens Desigo.
• Lead functional testing and turnover documentation.
• Collaborate with commissioning agents and project managers for spec compliance.

What You Bring

• 5+ years hands-on BAS or Controls experience (installation through commissioning).
• Solid understanding of HVAC mechanical systems and sequences of operation.
• Experience with major platforms: Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Honeywell.
• Strong electrical and networking skills (IP addressing, subnetting, comm bus troubleshooting).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and control drawings.
• Professional communication and documentation habits.
