Hellas, Inc., the #1 Sports Construction company in North America, is seeking an experienced Senior Auto Mechanic to oversee the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of our company fleet vehicles, including trucks, vans, and light-duty vehicles. This position will be based at our Liberty Hill, TX yard and includes some limited travel (30-40%) to project sites as needed.

Hellas is seeking a hands-on, proactive Senior Auto Mechanic who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise in automotive systems, strong leadership skills, and a passion for preventative maintenance and safety. This individual will play a critical role in keeping our fleet vehicles reliable and road-ready to support projects across the country.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage shop operations, ensuring timely maintenance and repair of company trucks, vans, and light-duty vehicles.
  • Perform diagnostics, inspections, and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other automotive components.
  • Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance while maintaining accurate service and repair records.
  • Keep the shop organized, clean, and efficient; ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
  • Monitor parts, supplies, and tool inventory; manage vendor relationships and coordinate purchases.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and supervision to junior mechanics or technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Occasionally travel to job sites to perform mobile repairs or conduct vehicle assessments.
  • Work closely with project managers and operations teams to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Participate in fleet evaluations and make recommendations for upgrades or replacements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 8 - 10 years of hands-on experience as an auto mechanic with expertise in engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, and general automotive systems.
  • BILINGUAL in English & Spanish highly desirable.
  • Prior experience managing a shop or supervising a team of mechanics strongly .
  • Technical certification or trade school degree in automotive mechanics or related field .
  • ASE Certification is a plus.
  • Excellent diagnostic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient with maintenance tracking systems and basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; CDL is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a solution-focused attitude and ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment.
