Job Title: Senior Architectural Designer (Hybrid)

A firm with its roots headquartered in Detroit known globally for their projects and vision.

Responsibilities:

Support large and complex projects in terms of developing the design and oversight of project teams, and may lead some medium/large scale projects

Creates and develops overall design concepts; formulates design presentation strategies and makes presentations.

Develops innovative design concepts that are practical, aesthetic, safe and conducive to intended purposes and function, reflective of client goals and within project budget.

Experience with coordinating construction documents and specifications indicating the full design intent and producing complete sets of construction documents.

Can lead a major portion of a larger project, or functions effectively in the role of Design Lead on mid to large size projects.

Defines program requirements and establishes design parameters based on client requirements and working with project architect/project manager.

Participates directly in program development, as well as conceptual and schematic design, including space planning, layout, utilization of equipment, lighting specifications, coordination.

Strong verbal presentation skills, including hand sketching, to convey design direction.

Understands zoning codes, building codes, accessibility requirements (ADA) and construction techniques.

Strong understanding of all aspects of construction documentation, review, and coordination, as well as all aspects of construction administration.

Manages design process for the length of the project; leads and directs the work of other designers and technical staff.

Manages design team members during the implementation of design to ensure clarity.

Manages client interaction and decision-making related to design team guidance, leadership, and mentorship.

Solicits bids and assists Project Manager and client in subcontracting fabrication, installation and arrangement of materials, finishes and furnishings required.

Collaborates, delegates with and mentors less experienced staff.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture

Strong knowledge of and experience with Revit and AutoCAD

License, LEED AP, but not required

Strong 3-D computer rendering skills
