To support Suterra’s continued investment in sustainable technology, we are recruiting for a Senior Analytical Chemist. The successful candidate will execute physical and chemical analyses to support the entire product lifecycle, from R&D through commercial manufacturing. The candidate is also expected to bring a broad array of leadership capabilities to the company, to support cross-functional projects that span across chemistry, engineering, formulation, regulatory affairs and field development. Our analytical team works daily with a global team and plays a key role in over 100 ongoing development projects.

Job Description
- Act as Analytical Sciences SME within cross-functional teams.
- Design and execute studies supporting product development and manufacturing efforts.
- Act as study sponsor for registration enabling studies at external laboratories while ensuring timely study completion that adhere to EPA and FAO/WHO guidelines.
- Train production staff on analytical instrumentation and procedures used in the manufacturing environment.
- Perform testing for release of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using various standardized extraction and analysis techniques.
- Define key quality attributes. Perform analytical method development and qualification/validation.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and verify performance of instruments.
- Maintain detailed documentation of results and activities per departmental expectations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate out-of-specification or out-of-trend observations
Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related discipline with 7+ years’ experience working in an analytical laboratory setting.
- In-depth knowledge of GC, HPLC, UV, FTIR, and mass spectrometry.
- Strict attention to detail and diligence in documenting all activities and observations.
- Proven technical writing skills.
- Use of structured approaches to solve difficult, research-based problems.
- Strong desire to act as a team member and leader in an environment where initiative, collaboration, and accountability are core values.
