Senior Analyst – Regulatory Data Compliance
Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Analyst to serve as a subject matter expert for regulatory data compliance initiatives. This role is central to the successful execution of reporting obligations tied to both mandatory and strategic projects. You’ll play a hands-on role in analyzing business needs, transforming data, validating reporting accuracy, and supporting production delivery within our insurance data environment.
In this position, you'll be instrumental in delivering premium and claims data reports, responding to audits, and helping ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. You will also help lead projects and contribute to building internal capability within the regulatory reporting team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Work closely with stakeholders to define, document, and validate business requirements related to regulatory and compliance reporting
- Provide input on project planning, resource estimates, and effort sizing
- Translate requirements into comprehensive technical and functional documentation for development teams
- Collaborate with software engineers and data developers to design and implement solutions within a structured SDLC environment
- Perform detailed data analysis and mapping, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data transformation logic
- Develop and execute robust test strategies including functional, regression, and integration testing
- Conduct root-cause analysis of reporting issues and support resolution efforts
- Support production reporting cycles, balancing, and delivery timelines while responding to internal or external data inquiries
- Lead small projects or initiatives and provide guidance to junior team members
- Contribute to process improvements and tools that enhance data integrity and regulatory reporting performance
- Assist with regulatory audits, internal controls reviews, and compliance assessments
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5–8 years of professional experience in data analysis, compliance reporting, or software development
- Solid understanding of data querying and relational database concepts (e.g., SQL, DB2, SQL Server)
- Experience building and validating transformation logic and data mapping documentation
- Familiarity with formal SDLC practices and documentation standards
- Ability to build complex SQL queries to support data analysis and testing activities
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities for working with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outputs
- Ability to self-direct and manage priorities across multiple concurrent assignments
- Experience guiding team efforts or leading segments of projects
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on cross-functional success
Skills
- Working knowledge of the Property and Casualty insurance industry
- Experience with regulatory or statutory reporting in insurance or financial services
- Familiarity with cloud data tools and platforms, such as AWS, S3, or Snowflake
- Prior supervisory or mentoring experience
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Experience supporting market conduct exams or audit readiness
- Demonstrated ability to challenge legacy processes and propose innovative solutions
