Join Our Team of Skilled Marine Welders in New Orleans!

NSC Staffing is actively seeking experienced Senior Aluminum Welders for a high-profile shipyard project in New Orleans, LA. This role is perfect for certified welders who thrive in fast-paced marine environments and bring at least 5 years of aluminum MIG and TIG welding experience to the table. This is a shipyard-based position – prior shipyard experience is absolutely required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum structures

• Read and interpret blueprints, tech manuals, and drawings

• Layout and fit-up materials for marine structural assemblies

• Use various tools and equipment including plasma cutters, grinders, torches, and rigging gear

• Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced ship repair environment

• Adhere to all safety protocols and PPE requirements

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience welding aluminum (MIG & TIG)

• Must have shipyard experience – no exceptions

• Able to pass welding tests (may include 6G pipe tests or position-restricted tests)

• Experience with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW a plus

• Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights

• Must be eligible for DBIDS and TWIC

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in open-air shipyard environments (exposed to weather, noise, elevated surfaces)

• Physical activity includes standing, bending, climbing ladders, and maneuvering in tight ship spaces

• Must be comfortable wearing full PPE and working in a physically demanding setting
