Summary
The Senior ACH Treasury Operations Analyst role is a mission critical operative in the Treasury Operations Department at Fortis Bank. This position reports to the Treasury Operations Manager. The Treasury Operations Department is responsible for efficiently and effectively managing the movement of cash in and out of the bank via various payment methods, including wires, ACH, checks, debit and credit cards. The department is a primary line of defense protecting the bank and clients from fraud and loss. The Department is fast—paced and requires a high urgency approach to daily activity. Team members interact with many bank functions that require
immediate response times and high service levels.
Responsibilities
Conduct Daily Payment Processing, Including:
- Domestic and international wires
- Check processing and returns
- ACH and exception items
- Debit card and credit card processing
ACH Operations:
- Maintain the ACH payment parameters in the Bank’s core operation platform, with strategic partners, and other payment infrastructure.
- Ensure timely and correct daily processing of ACH files including suspended items and exception handling.
- Monitor and resolve ACH issues, including returns, NOCs, disputes, reversals, etc.
- Partner with Accounting to reconcile ACH debits and credits with the general ledger as necessary.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures to ensure adherence to policy and NACHA rules.
- Build backlog of process improvement projects and execute as part of business-as-usual.
- Assist in evaluating, selecting, and implementing ACH and other payment technologies.
- Educate Treasury Operations team and other bank departments on ACH processing rules and regulations.
Provide Quality Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for any payment related issues rising from Bank, client and strategic partners.
- Research and resolve complex Bank and customer requests arising from problematic payment transactions.
- Establish and retain effective working relationships with Bank staff.
Manage Risk:
- Firmly stand behind and ensure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures to prevent fraud or loss – as well as OFAC standards.
- Review and influence ACH policy
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NACHA rules and adjust Bank protocols to ensure compliance.
- Support internal, external, and NACHA audit and compliance activity.
Advance Institutional Knowledge and Capabilities:
- Obtain and/or maintain NACHA AAP and other payment certifications.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years in banking or financial services environment.
- 2+ years exposure and experience with all facets of ACH payments.
- 2+ years working with core banking and payment technologies.
- Demonstrable knowledge of NACHA rules.
- Deep understanding of compliance and risk management in the payments industry.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and team-oriented environment.
- Self-starter with ability to operate with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational time management skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to quickly grasp concepts and processes with limited guidance from management.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: Midvale, UT
Reporting Structure: This role reports to the Treasury Operations Manager
Office Requirements: This role is required to be in office at least 4 days per week
