Semiconductor Process Engineer in Oxfordshire

Job Description

Our Oxford based client is currently searching for a Semiconductor Process Engineer to support the development, transfer and optimisation of coated consumable manufacturing processes within a cleanroom environment. The role will act as a technical bridge between R&D and Manufacturing, supporting NPI, design transfer, process capability, yield improvement and production problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have experience in chemical processing, surface engineering and coating technologies, ideally within a regulated, precision-manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Partner with R&D to develop and transfer manufacturing-ready processes for new products.
  • \n

  • Lead/support technology transfer and NPI industrialisation, providing Design for Manufacture input.
  • \n

  • Define Critical Process Parameters (CPPs) and Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs).
  • \n

  • Develop, optimise and control coating, surface preparation and chemical treatment processes.
  • \n

  • Use DoE, statistical analysis and structured problem-solving to improve process capability, yield, throughput, cost and consistency.
  • \n

  • Establish and monitor process KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
  • \n

  • Investigate production issues, process variation and yield loss using root cause analysis.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations and external suppliers/technology partners.
  • \n

Essential Experience

\n

    \n
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials/Surface Science, Chemistry, Physics or a related discipline.
  • \n

  • Significant process engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment; semiconductor cleanroom experience .
  • \n

  • Hands-on experience with coating technologies and surface treatments.
  • \n

  • Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab or JMP.
  • \n

  • Practical knowledge of DoE, 8D, FMEA and structured problem-solving.
  • \n

  • Strong analytical, project management, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • \n
