Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Service Technician with direct, hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and servicing advanced electronic security systems. This is a highly technical field service role—applicants must have proven experience with alarm/intrusion detection, CCTV, and electronic access control systems in commercial or industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot intrusion detection systems (alarms, sensors, control panels)

  • Install and service CCTV systems (IP/network cameras, NVRs, DVRs, cabling)

  • Implement and maintain access control systems (card readers, biometric devices, keypads, software)

  • Conduct routine inspections, system upgrades, migrations, and preventative maintenance

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues in the field and remotely

  • Document all work (service reports, installation records, system configurations) accurately and comprehensively

  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain technical issues and solutions

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and provide customized solutions

  • Availability to participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of direct, hands-on experience installing, programming, and servicing commercial/industrial electronic security systems (alarm/intrusion, CCTV, access control)

  • Proficient with cabling, wiring, and terminations for security hardware

  • Strong knowledge of IP networking as it relates to security devices

  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Good time management skills and ability to meet project deadlines

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Clean background check required

Experience

  • Experience with major brands such as Honeywell, Bosch, Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Axis, or similar

  • Experience with installing, programming, testing, and maintaining fire alarm panels and systems.

  • Certifications in security systems (e.g., ESA, NICET, manufacturer training) are a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to work on ladders, in tight or confined spaces, and at heights as needed

  • Manual dexterity to handle small components and tools

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods

  • Visual acuity to read diagrams, labels, and computer screens

Transportation Requirement

  • Must have reliable personal transportation for service calls to client sites.
