As a Security Officer - Access Control Chemical Sector in North Chesterfield, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As part of the Allied Universal team, you will be responsible for access control and security-related duties at a chemical or petrochemical location. Your role will include monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, conducting routine patrols, and remaining visible to help deter potential incidents. You will interact with employees and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and communication while utilizing technology such as computers or tablets. What You'll Do:
- Control access to the chemical or petrochemical location by verifying credentials and monitoring entry points to help to deter unauthorized entry.
- Monitor and operate access control systems, including visitor management, to help to maintain security-related protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and surrounding perimeter to help to identify any suspicious activity or potential hazards.
- Respond to incidents and security-related situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and site-specific policies.
- Provide customer service by answering questions, giving directions, and assisting employees, contractors, and/or visitors as needed.
- Document and report any security-related incidents, irregularities, or policy violations according to Allied Universal procedures.
- Support emergency response activities by assisting with evacuations, coordinating with first responders, and/or following location-specific contingency plans as directed.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Access control or badge experience is .
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is .
- Customer service experience is .
- Be at least 18 years of for unarmed roles; 21+ years of for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
