Overview

TradeWise is seeking an experienced Security Installation Superintendent to lead field execution for electronic security and low-voltage construction projects supporting mission-critical and secure infrastructure environments.

This role is responsible for planning, directing, and executing installation work across access control, video surveillance, and integrated security systems. The Superintendent will oversee field teams, manage project schedules and budgets, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract requirements.

This is a leadership role supporting complex builds within highly secure and technically advanced facilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day execution of electronic security installation projects
  • Manage field teams typically ranging from 5–10 technicians and installers
  • Plan project sequencing and scheduling to meet deadlines and budget targets
  • Forecast labor needs and assign manpower accordingly
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and Statements of Work (SOW)
  • Direct installation of conduit, cabling, and system infrastructure
  • Oversee system programming, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve design or installation issues
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and internal leadership
  • Monitor project budgets, productivity, and cash flow performance
  • Review job cost reports and manpower forecasts
  • Track project schedules using CPM methodologies
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes
  • Evaluate Foremen and Technicians and support workforce development
  • Mentor junior team members and support career progression
  • Coordinate material procurement, delivery, and storage logistics
  • Plan permits, site access, badging, and security clearances
  • Maintain detailed field documentation and daily work reports
  • Provide weekly status updates to Program and Installation Managers
  • Support change order negotiations and contract revisions
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements


Systems & Technology Exposure

Projects may include installation and integration of:

  • Access Control Systems
  • Video Management Systems (VMS)
  • Intrusion Detection
  • Biometrics
  • Network Infrastructure
  • Low Voltage Cabling
  • Structured Cabling
  • Security Command Centers


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 15+ years of construction or systems installation experience
  • 7+ years in electronic security installation projects ($500K+ value)
  • 2+ years in a leadership role (Superintendent, PM, or Foreman)
  • Experience installing conduit and wiring systems
  • Background in access control and surveillance system deployment
  • Experience with head-end programming and system testing
  • Working knowledge of network infrastructure
  • Proficiency in scheduling, job cost tracking, and project documentation
  • Experience managing manpower forecasts and productivity reporting
  • Proven track record delivering projects underestimated labor hours
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills


/ Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Project or CPM scheduling
  • Lenel OnGuard Certification (or similar access control platforms)
  • Video Management System certifications
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • CPR / First Aid Certification
  • Experience with biometric security systems
  • Willingness to travel as project needs require


Security Clearance Requirement

This role supports secure government and mission-critical environments.

  • Be eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance
  • Be a U.S.

Clearance sponsorship may be available depending on project assignment.
