Reed Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a fast growing Engineering and Manufacturing company\n\nSection Maintenance Engineer - Heavy Engineering \n\nWe are looking for a Section Maintenance Engineer to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production plant within a heavy industrial steelmaking environment. You will be responsible for maintaining key assets, minimising downtime, and driving continuous improvement in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical operation.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDeliver planned preventative maintenance and respond effectively to breakdowns.\nFault‑find and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.\nTake ownership of assigned plant and equipment, including cranes and heavy machinery.\nLead improvement activities to enhance reliability, safety, and performance.\nSupervise contractors and ensure compliance with site safety standards.\nRecord work and manage spares using a CMMS (e.g. SAP).\nEnsure all work complies with LOLER, PUWER, and site safety procedures.Requirements\n\nNVQ/ C&G/HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.\nExperience in steel, heavy engineering or other other manufacturing such as Aerospace, Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas, Automotive etc \nStrong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.\nSafety‑focused approach with good communication skills.\n18th Edition would be advantageous What We Offer\n\nStable, long‑term role in a major industrial operation.\nOpportunities for progression into senior or supervisory engineering roles.\nCompetitive salary and benefits package
