About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for an experienced School Site Manager to join a school in Alvaston, Derby, providing long-term sickness cover. This is a key role within the school, responsible for ensuring the site is safe, secure, and well maintained for students, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of the school premises and support the smooth running of the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school site each day

• Managing the maintenance and upkeep of the school buildings and grounds

• Carrying out general repairs and maintenance tasks

• Ensuring the site complies with health and safety regulations

• Conducting routine safety checks and maintaining site records

• Liaising with contractors and overseeing works on site

• Supporting with deliveries, furniture moves, and room setups

• Ensuring the school environment remains clean, safe, and fully operational

What We're Looking For

• Previous site manager, caretaker, or facilities management experience, ideally within a school environment

• IOSH qualification

• Relevant health and safety training and knowledge of compliance procedures

• Strong practical maintenance and DIY skills

• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

• A proactive and reliable approach

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
