Job DescriptionJob Description

The School Facilities Maintenance Worker helps the team keep the school’s buildings and grounds safe, clean, and fully operational for students, staff, and visitors. This role performs a variety of maintenance, repair, custodial, and landscaping duties to ensure a well-maintained learning environment.

Compensation:

$50,000

Responsibilities:

• Remove dangerous hazards and clean up spills with squeegees or sponges
• Replace light bulbs, clean windows, shampoo carpets, and supply restrooms on a regular basis as scheduled
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the building
• Perform daily janitorial duties such as vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing restrooms, dusting furniture, and emptying trash
• Write reports of areas cleaned and notify the manager of major repairs

• Perform general repairs and maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on systems and small motors.
• Maintain indoor and outdoor areas, including landscaping, painting, and basic custodial work.
• Inspect facilities for safety and operational issues, responding promptly to maintenance needs.
• Set up and take down furniture and equipment for events and activities.
• Assist with deliveries, safety checks, and traffic control during student drop-off/pick-up.

Qualifications:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent certification
• Experience with a variety of cleaning supplies and cleaning equipment
• Must be a hard-worker with high attention to detail and have a strong work ethic
• 1+ years of experience as a janitor, cleaning crew member, or similar position
• Driver’s license or reliable transportation to and from the worksite

• Experience in building maintenance or a similar role (school setting ).
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and small engine repair.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must pass a SC State DSS background check.
