Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Technician to join our maintenance team for Memphis Business Academy. This individual will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems across multiple school facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of HVAC systems, preventative maintenance practices, and troubleshooting techniques to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC systems and identify issues to ensure timely repairs.
  • Install new HVAC equipment and systems as needed.
  • Monitor and adjust HVAC controls to ensure proper temperature and air quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of service and repairs for HVAC systems.
  • Ensure HVAC systems meet district health and safety standards.
  • Respond promptly to HVAC-related service requests and emergencies.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all facilities are operating efficiently.
  • Provide recommendations for system upgrades, replacements, or improvements.
  • Stay updated with current HVAC trends, technologies, and safety regulations.
  • Other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Facilities Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in HVAC .
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance or repair, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
  • EPA Section 608 certification (or ability to obtain it).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and related equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Work with Commercial Equipment
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency repair needs.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and crouch for extended periods.
