Job Description
Company Description
EELI Technology is developing next- electrochemical systems to enable sustainable lithium recovery from low-grade resources. Our platform integrates electrochemistry, fluid systems, and modular reactor design to unlock new pathways for domestic critical mineral production.
We are seeking a Scale-Up Engineer to help bridge the gap between lab-scale innovation and real-world deployment. This role sits at the intersection of mechanical design, process engineering, and system integration, and will play a critical role in building EELI’s first pilot-scale systems.
Role Description
As a Scale-Up Engineer, you will design, build, and iterate on electrochemical reactor systems and supporting process infrastructure. You will work closely with the founding team to translate experimental insights into functional, scalable hardware.
This is a hands-on, build-first role requiring both engineering design and practical execution.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of relevant industry or applied research experience (flexible for exceptional candidates)
Core Requirements
- Experience with mechanical design (SolidWorks or similar CAD tools)
- Strong understanding of fluid systems and process hardware
- Hands-on experience building physical systems (lab, pilot, or industrial)
- Background in electrochemical systems (batteries, fuel cells, electrolysis, etc.)
- Experience with process design (PFDs, system layout, equipment sizing)
- Familiarity with pilot-scale or scale-up environments
- Exposure to instrumentation and controls (PLC, sensors, DAQ systems)
What We’re Looking For
- A builder mindset — comfortable designing and assembling real systems
- Ability to work across disciplines (mechanical + process + electrochemistry)
- Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced, evolving environments
- High ownership and willingness to take initiative
Compensation
Competitive startup package including salary and equity.
