POSITION PURPOSE

We're looking for a hardworking Scaffold Inspection and Testing Technician to join our growing team! The ideal person for this job is a reliable team player and a problem solver who has some prior inspection, testing and maintenance experience. This is a full-time on-site position in Irvine, CA. The Scaffold Inspection and Testing Technician will be responsible for performing suspended scaffold and support inspections, conducting testing and making necessary repairs. Other areas of support include estimating; customer service; work order, purchase order creation and management; job scheduling; inventory; and other tasks that may be needed.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining good business relations with prospects, customers, strategic partners, vendors and all company personnel.
Obtain customer feedback and continually work to improve services and job quality.

Resolve customer requests, complaints, and problems.
Inform management of current activities, changes in project conditions, and significant problems.

Manage time wisely and efficiently, set and meet deadlines for each project, work independently without direction, use resources such as the internet to improve education and knowledge, accept direction from supervisors, communicate with co-workers, recognize areas that need improvement and offer solutions.
Complete required reports and records accurately and promptly.
Log project progress including start and stop time, lunch breaks, and a detailed description of the work performed on each work order.
Protect and maintain all assigned Company property.
Complete thorough inspections and clearly document in writing and photographs all observations made in the field so they are understood by company personnel and customers.
Inspect, test, troubleshoot, document and repair electrical, mechanical and operational systems associated with Exterior Building Maintenance equipment.
Assist SIT Service Manager with proposals as required to provide repairs associated with field inspections and with purchase orders and Equipment Rental and supplies from specific jobs; follow up on rental requests and calling off equipment.
Establish communication via phone, fax or email necessary for customer contact to derive the best schedule for the customer while keeping within company policies.

Maintain constant and complete communication with SIT Service Manager and customer contact relating to scheduled inspection and service requests.

Works directly with vendors for material purchasing and equipment rentals and ensures pricing is competitive.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:
High School Diploma; Associate’s Degree or higher preferred

Valid driver’s license

 

Required Knowledge:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word & Excel)

Internet, Gmail, Google Research

Construction practices

Timesheet Entry

 

Experience Required:
2 years minimum experience in field experience scaffold inspection, dismantling, and installation (construction, electrical, estimating or maintenance)

 

Skills/Abilities:
Has excellent written and oral communication skills (English)

Has excellent supervisory, leadership and management skills

Manages time and people efficiently and effectively

Has proficiency in the use of Smart Phones; specifically, with email, text messaging, multimedia messaging, among others

Is resourceful

Makes difficult decisions

Maintains an organized schedule and documentation

 

AVAILABILITY
Full Time Employment Monday to Friday (8 hours per day); daily start/finish times may vary depending on jobs scheduled.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS
General computer work, performed inside an office

General Outside/Warehouse maintenance field work
Height Work: Mid to high rise buildings

Daily Travel: (Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego Counties); some out of state travel may be required

Working Outside (various weather conditions including but not limited to rain, sun, heat, cold)

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee as a part of normal job function is required to drive between multiple clients’ places of business, educational venues and the office on a routine basis.
