The Opportunity
- We are seeking an experienced SCADA LCM Engineer to support a major Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) Life Cycle Management programme.
- This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong OT/SCADA expertise and experience working on Vestas or Siemens Gamesa (SGRE) wind turbine platforms.
- Working across both a Denmark-based server lab and operational wind farm sites throughout the UK and Central Europe, you will play a key role in delivering SCADA upgrades, infrastructure improvements, commissioning activities, and long-term lifecycle management projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, configure and integrate OT/SCADA systems within a staging and testing environment.
- Deliver WTG Life Cycle Management (LCM) upgrades, including software, firmware, infrastructure and control system updates.
- Support installation, commissioning and troubleshooting activities across operational wind farms.
- Configure and maintain SCADA platforms within SGRE or Vestas environments.
- Deploy and support servers, virtualised environments and industrial networking infrastructure.
- Perform system patching, upgrades and cybersecurity hardening activities.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities.
- Produce technical documentation, drawings and operational handover packages.
- Provide technical input into procurement activities and hardware selection.
- Ensure compliance with all site safety standards, PPE requirements and GWO regulations.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Proven hands-on experience with WTG SCADA systems on either Vestas or Siemens Gamesa (SGRE) platforms.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Servers and operating systems
- Virtualisation technologies
- Industrial networking and IT/OT environments
- Experience delivering LCM, upgrade and commissioning projects within operational wind farms.
- Basic electrical competencies including panel wiring and installation support.
- Valid GWO certification.
- The ability to work independently both in laboratory and field environments.
- Experience working with OEMs, vendors and multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience producing technical documentation and handover deliverables.
